Instead, I decided to very quickly put something into the game that I’ve been planning for a very long time. I wouldn’t want to become known as “MinigameDev”, after all! I want to spend the majority of my time on developing the core game, so I didn’t make a minigame this year. So, what have I got prepared for this year?īecause I already produced two minigames this year (the Miyuki shoot-em-up and the Light Music Club’s rhythm game) I decided not to make a third minigame.
The first one was Yanvania, and the second one was Yandertale, and the third one was Midori Forest. In short, a “Spooktacular” is when I take a couple of days to produce a horror-themed minigame that pays tribute to one of my favorite games. What’s a “Spooktacular”, you ask? Well, the name probably makes it sound a lot more grandiose than what it really is. So, just like last year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and the year before that, it’s time for another… Some of them are pretty silly, but when a tradition has been going for several years in a row, I have a hard time breaking it. If you’ve been visiting this blog for a few years, you’re probably familiar with a few of my annual traditions. But be careful, that will affect the rest of the gameplay and the attitude of other people towards you! Everything is like in real life, so you have to consider each of your steps with great caution.EDIT: I’ve uploaded a new build with bug fixes! Get to date the guy you love and enjoy the plot twists!ĭuring the whole gaming process, you’ll get to explore the virtual city where the main heroine lives, travel around various locations, the main of them of course being your school, and meeting all kinds of characters. For example, you can ruin her reputation. Or you can start plotting against her to make her look bad int he eyes of your beloved. Or you fix her up with another guy from school. It can be done either in a peaceful manner – for instance, you make friends with her and she just can’t betray you. You have to figure out the best possible method of getting this particular girl out of your way by Sunday. They will all be different, with a different background and character. And you are going to help her!Įvery week you are going to fight against another opponent. So she needs to come up with a plan how to get rid of them. But no! Our heroine is a little bit of sociopath and she hates all the other girls at school because they are so thrilled with the same boy she laid her eyes on. She looks like a regular schoolgirl and you expect it to be all about love diaries and butterflies. You get into the main menu where you’re offered to choose an outfit and hairstyle for your heroine. Nothing bodes anything drastic at the beginning.
